SUMMARY:5th Annual NCC Cars & Chili Competition
DESCRIPTION:Our 5th Annual NCC Cars & Chili Competition will be another friendly cookoff among club members for the ultimate bragging rights of who can make the best chili. Registration is required for all attendees and the competition will be held from 11am to 2pm \nThere will be two (2) main categories (Chili Chefs must only choose 1 category): \n\nTraditional Red – classic red chili sauce\, with or without meat; NO beans\, pasta\, or other filler allowed\nHomestyle – anything goes! red/green/white/vegetarian chili\, with or without meat\, beans/pasta/filler are optional\n\nWe have several great prizes lined up for those top recipes based on a judged points system and the following criteria: \n\nAppearance – Visually appealing? Bright/colorful or dull/bland? Too oily?\nSmell – How appetizing is the aroma? Does it make you want to dig right in?\nConsistency – Meat-to-sauce ratio; Is it too mushy/too thin/too thick? Is the meat tender?\nFlavor – How flavorful is it from the first bite to any aftertaste? Too spicy/not enough spice? Spices blend well together/overpowering?\nCreativity – Did the chef use a wide variety of ingredients? How creative did the chef get in recipe? Did he/she think outside the box?\n\nEach Chili Chef will be required to complete the official competition template which will include the following: \n\nName of chili – names should be clever and BMW or car related\, of course!\nHeat level/spiciness – On a scale of 1 (mayo is too spicy!) to 10 (burn a whole in my ass please!)\nA listing of ALL ingredients – to avoid any allergies among judges/tasters; quantities do not need to be revealed\n\nNCC will provide a wide variety of condiments such as shredded cheese\, sour cream\, hot sauces\, paperware\, utensils\, drinks\, desserts\, etc. However\, these items will NOT be used during the judging competition. DESCRIPTION:The ///M Chapter is headed back to the BMW Performance Center West in Thermal\, California\, on December 2nd for our ///M Chapter Day event. The Performance Center West provides current model ///M cars\, instructors\, gas\, tires\, lunch and a first-class facility for a fun-filled day at the track. Just show up ready to drive! \nWhy drive with us? Our group is comprised 100% of true BMW enthusiasts. You can drive other events with strangers\, but you know the drivers in our group are part of the BMW CCA family and we know that you are\, too. Our events are specifically designed for BMW CCA club members and are something special to attend! \nThe focus of this event is on improving your driving skills and having fun through a combination of driving exercises\, classroom instruction and competitive events. No helmets or previous driving school experience are required. All skill levels are welcome and everyone 18 and older is encouraged to attend. As always\, the Performance Center provides current model ///M cars\, world-class instructors\, gas\, tires\, lunch and a first-class facility for a fun-filled day at the track. Just show up ready to drive! \nFor this event\, two driver’s share a car throughout the day. This provides plenty of drive time for both participants and allows passengers to focus on the technical aspects of the exercises (if they choose to ride along.) This format provides a great mix of learning and driving. Don’t worry\, you will get plenty of drive time and be exhausted by the end of the day. We can also offer driver’s a car to themselves for the entire day. No car sharing and double the drive-time\, you will drive all day by yourself. \nThis school is a special program designed by the Performance Center staff specifically for BMW CCA chapters. It will be similar to previous ///M Chapter Club Day events\, which included instruction on proper driving position\, vehicle dynamics\, car-control skills\, weight-transfer\, oversteer/understeer and improved vision. The day is divided into morning and afternoon sessions which mix skill exercises and competitive events\, including skid pad wet/dry courses\, braking and handling practice\, autocross\, lapping and more. \nWe will be driving current model BMW ///M Cars for this event. DESCRIPTION:Ladies Do It Yourself (LDIY) Program Overview \nThis event is open to all members (ladies and guys) although ladies will be “first up” during the event.\nJoin us for our special ladies DIY led by instructor Mary Snyder\, a seasoned DIY’er. as she leads a session on understanding general maintenance on topics ranging from tire wellness\, knowing when you really need brake work\, basic maintenance (oil\, antifreeze\, brake fluid) and more. She will be assisted by BMW of Annapolis’ shop foreman\, Bob Hoffman. Bob runs similar programs for female Midshipman from the U.S. Naval Academy. \nA team of our DIY regulars will be on hand to assist each attendee with a full bumper to bumper service & safety inspection.  They have the tools and talent – they’re ready work side by side with you guiding you through some basic needed maintenance that could include oil change\, brake fluid flushes\, etc..  At the end of the session you’ll be provided a completed inspection checklist with any recommendations for any additional maintenance. \nNever worked on your car before? Then this is perfect beginner’s session that will allow you to demystify what you’ve been paying for and save you money at the same time. \nThe Do It Yourself (DIY) program allows National Capital Chapter (NCC) BMW Car Club of America (CCA) Members to work on their own cars under the supervision of expert mechanics and technicians provided by the DIY Sponsor. The purpose of the DIY is to learn and practice proper maintenance and repair techniques that you can routinely complete within a two hour time period. \nThere are typically several NCC members who can assist you when an extra pair of hands or advice is needed. We are happy to show newcomers the joys of working on your own car. This event runs from 7:45 AM to 2:00 PM.  Lunch for the event is provided by the club.\n			\n				Student Registration
